Eye Examinations

Regular eye examinations are an important part of your healthcare routine. They can help detect certain eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration which could lead to sight loss. An eye test may also detect health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure in addition to picking up early indications of high blood cholesterol, a common contributor to coronary heart disease and strokes.

Certain qualifying groups of people, including all children under 16 and everyone over the age of 60, are entitled to a free NHS sight test. Click below for information regarding free NHS eye tests and optical vouchers.

In all cases accurately corrected vision can significantly improve your quality of life and ensure you meet the DVLA requirement to hold a driving licence. Click below for DVLA driving eyesight requirements.
